Transition & Community

Transitioning to a new place can be filled with many emotions! The Dean of Students Office, specifically New Student and Family Programs, is responsible for providing programs that support your success and transition to the University of Florida. In collaboration with various campus departments and academic areas, we strive to support students inside and outside of the classroom.

The Dean of Students Office team provides leadership in three key areas: (1) transition of first-year and transfer students into life at UF; (2) building connected and engaged communities; and (3) creating connections between academic and student life. The team also works to create opportunities for student-faculty engagement, while facilitating an atmosphere that is welcoming to all students and offers an introduction to the core value of global-understanding.
