Breastfeeding Class
This two-and-a-half hour class is designed for couples who are at least 28 weeks pregnant and desire to breastfeed their baby. The class covers subjects such as the benefits of breastfeeding, common problems and solutions and the basics of breastfeeding.

Child Life Program
The Child Life Program was established to help children and families cope with the stress and anxiety of hospitalization. Child Life Specialists at UF Health Shands Children's Hospital are certified non-medical professionals who understand child development and provide interventions in an environment that will support normal growth and development.
Childbirth Education Class
The is an 8 hour class series that covers subjects such as cord blood donation, anatomy and physiology, relaxation techniques, stages of labor, anesthesia options and comfort measures.

Fun 4 Gator Kids is your local resource for family friendly events and activities in Gainesville and surrounding areas. Mother Baby Unit
The Mother Baby Unit consists of 18 private maternal inpatient beds and 20 newborn nursery beds located on the third floor of UF Health Shands Hospital.
Newborn Care Class
The class is designed for couples who have little or no experience with babies. Some of the topics covered in class are car seat safety, cord care, circumcision, bathing, diaper rash, temperature and infant safety.
UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital
UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital has 167 beds, including fully-equipped pediatric and neonatal intensive care units. UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital is part of the Children's Miracle Network's alliance of premier hospitals for children.

Baby Gator Child Development Centers
Baby Gator offers high quality care to children ages 6 weeks to five years.Children grow and learn in a safe and healthy environment with a caring and attentive staff of well-trained early childhood educators. Curriculum is designed to encourage children to experience the world around them. Baby Gator addresses the needs of all children and fosters growth in social, behavioral, cognitive, and physical skills and early literacy skills. Lawton Chiles Legal Information Center
The Lawton Chiles Legal Information Center occupies the bottom three floors of Holland Hall with computer support on the top floor. The facility includes 13 student study rooms, a lactation/meditation room, lounge seating, open reserve area and carrels.
Library West
The George A. Smathers Libraries are happy to provide a lactation room to support UF families. Any University of Florida community member (faculty, student or employee) can use the Lactation Room. Please request the key to the room at the Library West Circulation Desk. The Lactation Room (Room 252C) offers a comfortable, clean and secure private space for women who need to express breast milk while on campus. Mothers, fathers or other caregivers are encouraged to use the space to feed and comfort infants. The room is equipped with comfortable seating, a table, a sink and ample electrical outlets. Please note that breast pumps, storage and refrigeration are not offered, so please plan accordingly.
All Lactation Room users are expected to help maintain this unique campus space in the clean and welcoming condition in which they found it. A diaper changing table is also available in the adjacent Gender-Neutral/Family restroom.
Health Science Center Library / Communicore Building
A Mamava pod for lactation is available on the 2nd floor of the communicore building near the entrance to the Health Science Center Library.
